1. Trade deadline for the NHL is on Monday Feb.28. Just like last year we will make our trade deadline the day later to allow for the fallout of the deadline so our trade deadline is 11:59 p.m. of Tuesday March 1st. Trading will resume after the regular season ends.
2. The waiver wire is now closed. It will be opened back up on Wednesday July 6th.
3. I have had interest from one individual for taking over Rich's team. Interest doesn't mean it will be awarded though. I am serious about wanting a knowledgeable GM to take over the Rockets. If you know anyone interested then let me know. The more candidates the better.
4. If anyone has any rule changes/concerns then please PM them to me so we can start the ball rolling on discussing them.

Rich's team...
I think overall league competitiveness is more important than finding another guy to take over the rockets I purpose that the teams in the lottery do a dispersal draft where they would take turns choosing the players from the rockets till they want no more players for every player they pick they must drop 1 even if they are under the 28 man roster. they can choose to take as many or as little players as they want. once the draft is done the players left and the ones dropped go into the free agent pool and would be able to be selected by everyone the players that are choosen should not be able to be traded for 1 season.
Just my opinion what do you think?

As a perennial cellar dwellar I think that is a fantastic idea, however I am not sure why there would be a trade freeze for a year, I probably wouldn't want to trade a pick up but I am unclear as to why there would be a freeze. Jason had mentioned to me he was thinking 1 round just for bottom guys and then a 2nd round were everyone could pick in order. Dropping guys sounds fair to me. Thats all I got to say about that. Obviously a dispersal draft helps me. ok this time for real, thats all I got to say about that.

the trade freeze... because the new assets were not planned to be available on the new teams. we have made sure not to drastically change the rules affecting the next season. I think its important not to make changes that don't allow time to also change stratagy
again just my opinion

Maybe we should take all his assets ( players and picks) and disperse them for everyone to pick from starting form the bottom to the top, that way every one has a crack at some good roster, prospect or picks what ever that GM decides.
